Great pic! The S580 is a hybrid technically. Could that get away with parking there? Lol

Bleh. The allure and appeal are gone for me.

Your car OTOH I’d take and keep literally forever.

I think the Yukon might be faster than my SL. Although I didn't have it all the way to the floor at first and toward the end with the MB. Unsure, they're close. Nevertheless the it's startling how fast this GMC is. I take back what I said about these transmissions with tons of gears, the way the 10 speed keeps it in the meat of the power band is crazy (full screen it and see the tach for yourself), however it's not as fun as winding cars out the old way with less gears like with the Mercedes.

Nice, the real difference is just how the 8/10 speed trans always know the right gear to be in. T

he ZF8 in particular once trained to you on a fresh adaption relearn is just magical, absurdly fast shifts just a hair off a PDK

I took my W12 out to our weekly range day and drove it hard the whole time, absolutely obliterated any semblance of MPG.....but man it's damn fun driving it in manual mode or max aggression trans settings. So much full power was used it was great, I love driving the fast cars how they are able to drive!

32.1 miles driven since last fill.....

.
It does. And it jumps to the correct gear like lightning.

MB, at least my old one, has really, really good adaptive transmission logic, but once the fun starts you're way past legal speeds. Headed to the Devil's Triangle this weekend with it.

The old MB 5 speed auto was very solid. Slot it into 4 for performance driving.

MB transmissions today aren’t great. Mine has some clunky downshifts when braking, and some people have real problems with their transmissions.

so i drove the LC at the weekend (hadn't driven it since i got the ioniq ev!). it was wonderful, but felt sooo old school. but great sounds, great pull, great handling (rws helping), and obviously great looks and materials.

but yeah... i'd forgotten what gear changes were like.

I took my W12 out to our weekly range day and drove it hard the whole time, absolutely obliterated any semblance of MPG.....

yikes, 9mpg.

so let's do some math here...
at $3.48 a gallon, that's 39c a mile.
my LC gets about 20mpg which is 17c a mile.
my ioniq ev gets typically 3.2mi/kwh and i pay 14c per kwh so that's 4c a mile.

oh and my ioniq 5 is QUICK and has no gears.

if there's a bigger war in the middle east, we could be going back to $5 gas...

the less speeds the better IMO. I think a 5 speed is the perfect set up.

What's odd is that they've been that way since the 7-speed transmission was introduced. The 9-speed transmission didn't change much.
