To those of you who laugh at my garage lines, the Pacifica is in having the tires replaced and I have a loaner and my wife is driving the Mercedes. I just came home to this garage parking job lol

See. That’s what is so awesome about Japan made SUVs. My new 4Runner has 88 cubic feet of room inside. It’d tall and off the ground like a f150. But is not massive to the point of being cumbersome. The LX is like the perfect size IMO, but I get Americans want bigger SUVs

exactly, or starbucks.
haha, yes, "off roading" takes on a new meaning.
I have a full size truck and pretty much drive it daily. I think it's a bit outdated to state that a truck's one and only purpose is to haul things. If that was the case, they wouldn't have increased the interior passenger space, added all of the creature comforts, and turned them into something quite premium inside. Trucks have changed to be both people haulers and cargo haulers. I fail to see why people who drive full size trucks as daily drivers are somehow worse than those who drive full size SUVs as daily drivers.
Anyway, I bought a full size truck because I do need a full size truck to pull our travel trailer and take the family on trips. I do frequently load up the bed of it at Lowe's or the local landscaping shop. Or to throw our bikes in the back and head out with the family for a day of bike riding. It would feel ridiculous, at least to me, to use it for those purposes and then just leave it parked all other times and never drive it otherwise. To me, THAT is what would be wasteful.
Side note, when we go on a road trip, even without the trailer, we take the truck. Why? Because it's the most comfortable for the four of us over a long drive. None of our other vehicles have anywhere near that much passenger space.

second, trucks are the 'do it all' vehicle for many, and of course if you want to do it all, you need a truck, even if some or even most of the time you're not using it for things only a truck can do. but a huge number of truck owners absolutely do not need a truck. they just like the image/style/sitting up high, etc.
i've realized recently that suv's, crossovers and even hatchbacks have one drawback... if you want to transport anything that is messy or smelly, they're not good! that's where a truck is a huge win.
i had to transport a computer to e-recycling that was literally oozing goo out of one corner. no idea why and don't want to know. but i did have to make sure it was inside a pretty sturdy box in my crossover so it didn't leak all over the back.

When you say something is a "poser vehicle" it means that somebody buys it trying to appear that they are something they aren't. Do you really think people buy trucks so that they can look like contractors or laborers? No...they buy trucks because they like the size and the style and the capability whether they need that or not. They're not trying to look like they're somebody that they aren't. I see no difference between someone driving a truck and driving a big SUV.
Take me, I didn't want an SUV over a Minivan because I care what other people think about what I drive, I wanted one because I prefer that style of vehicle. I like the way they look, feel, drive, I like the capability and the ability to go wherever I want and the ground clearance and the space and the 4WD. I'm not pretending to be somebody who doesn't have a family lol

I laugh because you park cars in the garage. 🤣 🪂 🚗
Everyone knows garages are for fun stuff and a work shop with tools and stuff.

well that's where we'll just see things differently... i think that can absolutely be the case sometimes, to me it's the same kind of mentality that causes people to upbadge their C300 with AMG logos
i don't think they're trying to look like a contractor or laborer lol, but there's definitely some kind of 'i wanna be a gnarly badass bro and gnarly badass bros drive a gnarly badass bro truck' thing going on (extra points if you make your truck roll coal lol)

Why the hell not? Lol. That is one of the worst lights in that area, and, as you can see, the light is green. I absolutely would have run over that curb. Also that light is horrible for a "dip", lol I've taken it verrrrry quick in my LX and the AHC just takes it. Another truck plus. You have to slow down in anything but a vehicle like an LX.
If there were pedestrians or something right there, no.
