Why do people post cars for sale if they aren't actually ready to sell? Does anyone know why?

I'm raging because I'm TRYING to buy a MK4 Jetta ALH TDI 5-speed but I swear to god the universe is just not gonna let me have one. I have had 6 deals fall through in some way shape or form in the last 2 weeks. I just want to have a manual diesel to get it out of my system....this last one REALLY pissed me off since it was a leather interior example with almost every possible feature.

I would drive it as my daily since I enjoy the sound of a diesel and driving manual is fun, oh and 65+ Mpg. The 04 VW would be the "if needed" car

That's because they are not ready to sell, just wasting everyone's time.

There are homes where I live that have had For Sale signs on them for 10 years. Lol

Yeah, it's douchy.
If it's not "priced to sell" they are not serious.

I really hope the Jetta diesel has more oomph that the rabbit diesel.

The rabbit was a dog that wouldn't get out of it's own way.

Turn on the AC and the car wants to die. Lol

Im going to stage 4 tune it, should make very good power (185 wheel) and nearly 300tq so I won't hate it. You also have to tune it for more mpg anyway

300 Torque, now we're talking fun.
That might be a lot for a car this size.

What's the expected curb weight?
Hopefully sub 3k lbs...

It's not too bad stock, probably in the 8-9 second range to 60. That old rabbit was probably more like 18-19 seconds. With a basic tune, it's quicker than a stock 1.8T of the same generation, which is a pretty quick little car.

@AJT123 I remember you telling me what a dump LA was, boy were you right. We went to Grauman's Chinese Theater and talk about trashy all the way around it...all in all I feel like I've been to LA and don't need to go back...

Good to hear you had a nice trip! I went to NYC a few times before Covid and it was okay, the main areas at least are nothing like LA....

I’ve spent a lot of time in NYC, love NYC. I liked some parts of LA, loved the canyons and the neighborhoods up in the Hollywood hills, but overall not a huge fan. And the TRAFFIC

Hollywood has been gross for decades now. I just got back from LA this morning, I absolutely love it there. I've dreamed of having a nice house in the Hancock Park neighborhood for several years.

Lol oh I'll get back to this, I'm just tired right now and just had a big dinner and want to do nothing. But yep. We've been gone a long time. But now It's worse than ever. One thing I'll say is we lived walking distance from where you were up toward the hills (I'll get a map screenshot and mark some stuff later), and it was pretty safe then. Never any problems. That area is very dangerous now. Where did you stay?
