True but an LS was always a valid answer to the question of a full grade luxury car....now it's not. Before the Germans only offered one engine "above" the Lexus choice if you exclude the 12 cyl cars. Now there are two full levels above (V8, AMG/S/M) and even then the base versions kick the LS around like a bad joke

Best way to put it is where is Lexus's RS3? C63? M2? If they don't want to play at being a fake high brand they need to offer "stupid" versions of all their cars. They BARELY made the ISF/GSF/RCF and those lose to upper mid level Germans.....

Lexus never made even ONE performance SUV. There is no brand draw and once you taste the alternative reliability doesn't sway you anymore. Once upon a time I was fervently anti-German, then I got skilled enough it didn't matter anymore. The end product is so superior in performance it's worth me spending extra time/care but I honestly do that regardless so why not have the better car? If spending money on a new car why not buy the better car? Who cares about reliability if you have a warranty?

Well, inconvenience is a big one. Nobody wants a car thats in the shop all the time. The reality is that german cars are not as unreliable as people claim they are, and at near 50,000 miles I have had a superior experience in regards to reliability with my S560 than I did my LS460s. The new 48V MH units though are having some real problems...hopefully they will get that sorted out soon.

So yeah I would take a car thats not quite there for the trouble free experience, but not a car that is dramatically lesser.

I mean, a blown tire is really not related to the brand of the car.

Did she hit one of those notorious potholes in the Ohio Snow Belt?...or don't you know? They can do a number on lower-profile tires and big wheels.

Right now Ohio roads are in the best shape that they are in all year as road repair work has basically been completed for the year. Now that it is colder we will get into freeze/thaw cycles and the pot holes will begin sprouting again.

Yeah lol! I'm actually trying to figure out how she didn't.....the sidewall got cut by something on the inside. It should have killed both? I'm really pissed though since the tires only had 17k on them, now it needs another set.

I have zero idea! It's the first time I've seen a failure like this, I'll post pictures tomorrow.....

I'm just happy it happened 1.3 miles from the house, didn't have to get the trailer or call roadside. I do admit I want to test/use it though since the tires did come with that as a perk

This is very accurate.

LS is gone soon. I figured that 5 years ago. It's just that terrible, and sedans are dead. I don't want LS to die but it's not long for this world.

I think Jill may be right and they may take the LS and perhaps turn it into a proper crossover.... maybe? One that would truly compete with a GLS, etc. We know they can do it.

In any case, LS sedan is about to be dead. Glad I have my 430 isolation chamber proper V8 Lexus forever.

Lexus no longer pushes the envelope at all, they are also rans in basically every comparison they are put to, and they no longer are compared to the Germans where they used to always be.
Lexus has never ever had a gasoline V8 turbo. Never mind a twelve cylinder

It's just crazy how bad it is, my buddy and I were gawking at a late 460 that had some pretty sweet aftermarket rims and commented on how good that looked and how much we hate the new one. His GF had one and it's trash.

The new LS I could not care less about it, there is virtually nothing I like about it. As an LS owner and die-hard.

LS460 looking back was a nice design. I can appreciate it now and I guess I didn’t then. I like the LS500 because it’s different, but it should have had a snorting wild V8

Glad I have my 430 isolation chambe
I always thought Lexus should have gone ultra high end at $200,000+ and offered a 12 cylinder
