Debatable.......the brake actuator on a 460 costs more to repair/replace than the turbos on a 4.0 engine. The cost to keep my 4 cars fixed so far has firmly been in favor of the Germans since they have easier to find and cheaper parts with faster install.

Glad you see that now.
Lexus is a little closer than they were in the past. Lexus now offers performance products like the F car (although they are not very competitive) but they still lack modern power trains offerings and instead they are using an engine that they have recycled from the 2007.
The 460 also outsold Mercedes S Class too.
Toyota can make reliable turbo engines.

I honestly thought for the longest time that those cars were ALL riced out, then I learned they were like that from factory!

Yep. Though some days I wish we did have inspections, because you have a lot of Altima driver types who run around with no bumpers and body parts dragging on the ground. What a classless bunch.
I do enjoy not paying state income taxes, and our property taxes are pretty low as well. I pay about $1600/yr in property taxes. DMV tax was about $200 for the truck and $500 for the BMW this year.

Our property taxes are $1300 a year lmao, our house is almost comically undervalued by the county, I pay $100 per car per year for my specialty tags at $30 bucks more, it’s normally $70. The boat is $35 a year for tags.
New stuff has come out, TN has gone from 47th to 50th for total tax burden. Couldn’t be happier.
Though I won’t tint a car that dark ever again, because I want ZERO probable cause to ever be pulled over. Speaking of, if anyone has a frame that covers what county you are, that’s PC just fwiw. Really stupid that dealers sell cars with their logos on them that cover it.

I’ll get into it later but from 1990-2006ish Lexus absolutely positively was tier 1. LS wiped the floor with everyone for way cheaper through 2006 for starters. SC400 came out and all the mags said it was a better car than the 8 series at literally half the price. LX had the nicest interior you could get in its class early 2000s with the 100. It was underpowered, but many trucks were then so not a huge deal like today. GS400 blew everyone away. RX invented the crossover…
I’ve said this before but IMHO Lexus still has the cred, even if it’s from the past that they’re resting on.

In 2005 you could have bought an LS, or an S600, SL600, CL600, S55, S65, CL55, CL65, SL55, SL65, 760Li, Alpina B7, S6 V10, A8 W12 and in 2007 the S8 V10.......in what world does the LS even enter the conversation vs those? Mercedes alone clearly proves just how unserious Lexus was since they shoved every engine possible into EVERYTHING they made, to this day Lexus has never come close and never will since they just keep moving themselves lower downmarket by both sales volume and the types of cars they sell. The LC500 should be the NORM not the exception for a luxury brand.

I don't have a grievance against Lexus, I just call it like I see it. I'd like to own a Lexus again I just need them to offer the kind of vehicles I want, and as a Lexus fan I would like to see them compete at a high level.
