AJT - thanks for sharing trip info.

so at 19.5mpg (very good for that huge vehicle by the way) and an over 24 gallon tank, that's a (great) range of ~470mi.
of course at say $3.50 a gallon for premium that's about $68 fill up.
your cost per mile is about 18c. my ev for comparison is just 4c (with home charging)!

Thats another thing that keeps me out of an SUV. Even Range Rovers have that issue. Pacifica is like that too

My S560 turns about 1,700 RPM at 90 lol
Thanks! I wasn't testing it going that fast but I didn't notice anything different loudness-wise, will check for sure on the way back at 90+. The mirrors are huge like you say.

It dumbfounds me, of course and LS is going to be quiet; that's its whole mission. This is a 6200lb brick going 85MPH. IDK how Lexus did it but they did. It's an absolute tomb in there.

Thanks! And yeah, it gets good MPG on the highway for what it is.

This is not intended to start a debate, it's not a shot, but I couldn't even begin to imagine dealing with finding chargers and waiting for charging on long trips.

I think the ideal thing would be to have an EV to zoom around the city in and ICE/hybrid for long trips.

Merry Christmas to friends and acquaintances on here!!!! Hope everyone has a great holiday!!

I want the salt off my truck, lol.

it's meant to give you a back and leg massage with the cruise control set at 150

the E55 especially could benefit from an additional gear... 100 mph in 5th is just about 3,000 rpm, but it's got the grunt to be at 1,500 and still accelerate up a steep hill lol

Yep, lol. That said, even on the autobahn I'm not sure I'd drive that fast even though S-Class would do it all day. Easy to be killed fast if you hit something on the road.

Same with the SL, I reported this... someone (maybe you?) said something like "Yep MB wants you to have the torque at the ready at high speeds..."

Our cars must be geared the same, 3000RPM @ 100 as well.

@BrettJacks

What kind of MPG do you get with the F150 at highway speeds?

I would hope for 20 mpg with a full size pick up.

Anything over that I would consider a gravy bonus

I got 25-26 mpg on highway with my RX330 and I think it's ok, I'm thrilled.

Off the freeway? 20-22.

On the freeway? 17-18. I drive aggressively fast on the freeway and the stretch that i travel on to get Utah has a lot of hills.

I'm also running heavy KO2 10 ply tires, and I removed the front air dam even i bought it.

I was just getting ready to ask where those pics were taken.

The landscape looks like out west from what I've seen in the movies.

Like Area 51 out west near the desert.

I had a friend who drove out west to Sturgis for bike week every year but I've never been west of the Missippi river, some day.

I like warm all year long weather.

Ps- your mpg looks okay to me for a full size pickup.

.
I would rather pay the extra money and drive the LX. Full size spare. Cargo room. A sunroof that can open.
