Interesting

@SW17LS how fast in the 560?
130 is basically the same as 60 in a normal car for that one, doesn't feel like I'm doing anything really and I can still easily lane change and I just kind of chill with one hand on the wheel etc....gets about 18.5 mpg at that speed as well. That's one of the main reasons I want to delimit/tune it, the factory limiter is just too low and I have no idea why they set it as such for the US market.

my only guess is that it was originally sold with H rated tires, i know this is why the LS 430 is "slower" than the LS 400

also are you saying it gets 18.5 mpg at 130 mph? if so then there's a 0% chance of that being the case lol... my LS with 4 fewer cylinders gets those sort of mpgs going 25 mph slower

Yeah it gets that at 130 since I'm in 8th gear and the engine isn't straining to maintain the speed. The LS 400 is screaming for it's life to maintain that speed, mine has about 250 more TQ at 2300rpm than the 400 does at peak.

You would easily beat me in the city/lower speeds where your engine is more comfortable vs mine not really being able to operate in its peak range. Same reason my 460 is better for MPG at normal speeds etc

Lol it's technically 131, the limiter. At least in the 430. I've read it somewhere, not going off the speedos.

As Dave mentioned a month or so ago (original notice below), this thread is now closed. You can find its replacement here: General Car Conversation 2024.

it’s too big for me to perform moderator activity (like moving replies out when posted by a newbie that should be in a specific model forum) without CL bombing out in an error. Happens at least once each week.
