"Confronted" another LX today. It's a Black Luxury. I liked it at first before it came out, then no after seeing/test driving it, but now I do think the front does have a presence for certain color/option combination. The Ultra White F Sport I saw the other day and this one both gave me a good impression. It didn't feel as inferior to Escalade as I used to feel.

So kinda strange, the S560 has 27K miles on it, I got a warning probably around 12-13k miles that I needed to add coolant. Took it by the dealer and they did so, if anything the kid overfilled it. I'm now getting the add coolant warning again...I've never had a car that used coolant like that...

Not saying it's worse or a bad thing, just saying when you have the two engines side by side there are easily 30% more connections/parts to monitor.

Probably "burning"/using a little, it's common on turbo German stuff. You may have a slight leak somewhere in the heat exchange systems since there are miles of tubing lol! The turbos are also cooled with a separate cooling loop and there is also the intercooler/heat exchanger loop and I think both have an electric pump to move coolant post shutdown.

They are an amazing value for what you get, even long term if you know what you are doing they are amazing cars. I only went with Audi due to the space underhood, the fact that all systems are EASY to get to and clustered. For example the entire water system is all under the drivers side headlight and you can get to it with only removing the undersheild, other brands are far more convoluted to work on with the worst being the low mount turbo Mercedes 4.7L in an AWD car.

Could be the turbos, I’ve never owned a turbocharged car

It makes a difference. Generally speaking no matter what field it is people who buy top shelf stuff like to keep it perfect, I'm that way with nearly all my stuff even though I have used cars for the most part. It would bother me and others of the same mentality that coolant is just going away like that so naturally we would want to figure out and stop the issue so the "unknown factor" goes away and we can allocate the issue out of mind.

Steve's coolant issue is serious, but it won't cause any problems for him. The next owner, ehhhhh.
Well he doesn't have to pay anything because he's under warranty, but still. Taking a (brand new 100k) car in for repairs would be very irritating though. Whatever his issue is, will get worse and end up possibly catastrophic thousands and thousands of miles down the road.

It goes in for the next A service in about 2,000 miles, I'll bring it up then. Based on the response to my thread on MB world it is not common.
