wow, who really don't like gm, huh? lol

first off if you hadn't noticed, EVs are expensive.
second, fwd platform when it comes to EV is NOTHING like fwd ICE platform. motors are small, and a fwd EV can provide additional room at the back for example, and with the battery pack, there isn't the front weight bias like an ICE vehicle.
third, maybe there's some cost savings there, some of which can be passed onto the consumer.
fourth, not everyone cares (most don't) about which wheels are driven.

For an EV; that pricing is not bad. And it is not a FWD platform, it’s an EV platform, so the old idea of a FWD vs RWD platform is moot.

The press release literally says it's available in RWD, FWD, or AWD. Why the need to hate on something for a fictitious reason?

My turn . You'll easily recoup the the extra $10K to $15K price difference in about 4 years in not having to fuel it with expensive gas, and virtually no maint. Today I had to fill up our Sienna to take my brother in law and his family to the airport...$71 fricken dollars to fill the tank. I spend less than $60 a month on charging two EV's that combined drive 20K miles a year. Now if you don't care for GM or the GM interior, that's fair game

And yes @bitkahuna , most people don't care what wheels drive the vehicle

The reason a RWD platform is better than a FWD platform in ICE world is because of the position of the engine and the impact that has on handling, weight distribution and design. Thats why AWD doesn't solve the issues a transverse engine FWD based vehicle has. In an EV, there is no engine, and the type of drive has nothing to do with the design of the car. Its literally just which motors power the vehicle. So, just because this Blazer can be had in FWD does not mean that the RWD or AWD versions are compromised.

GM already ran out of the Fed Tax credits. Ford is also going to run out of them soon from the sales of their Mach-E and F-150 Lightning

$50k for a small Chevy SUV aimed at average American is a joke - EV or not

FWD means the power goes through the front wheels - that is never good for handling and overall performance.

The RWD based version will be substantially more for a reason.

The RWD version- there is limited info and no pricing! Who knows when it will even come out and at what price.

And yet Hyundai Ioniq 5 and EV6 that are the same price range are moving faster than the dealerships can get hold of them, even with $8K dealer markups. If nobody buys them, then yes I agree it's a joke, but if people do buy them.....
