Other than the basket-handle wing, it's a big improvement- much more grown-up. The low point in my opinion is the overly thin d-pillar, which lends a look of weakness and fragility to the body.

Interesting that the car will be made in Japan (better quality?)

‘Lexus ES and Lexus RX are still made in Japan. In fact…Lexus is moving ES back to Japan. I would rather buy a Japan made Toyota or Lexus than I would a US made build. I would not buy a Mexican made Toyota

The Toyota and Lexus products that were made in Japan is vastly superior to the ones made outside of Japan. RAV4 Prime is vastly superior in its construction and feel. The GX, LS and GS are other examples of tight construction and quality. The ES and RX I owned and my cousin's 2021 Hybrid Rav4 had rattles, creaky dashboards, loud interiors with lots of road and wind noise, just feels like it is missing a few welds. My friend's 2022 Sienna came without AC from the factory and exterior trims were misaligned. The new Tundras have a crap ton of issues. My friend's 2nd or 3rd gen Fit has lots of problems compared to her 1st gen Fit that was made in Japan. Even German cars made outside of Germany is vastly inferior to the ones made in Germany.
So yes it is a good thing the new Type R is made in Japan, just to bring the thread back on topic lol.

I don’t understand why someone wouldn’t want a Japan made Honda…. (if given the choice). Honda is a Japanese brand
