Something I've never seen before.... (modded Sienna)
Today's Sunday and I'm on my way to the office. As I've mentioned several times, I'm in IT, and we are in the middle of completing a migration from one system to another. I see in my rear view mirror a car that is weaving around traffic, driving pretty fast and aggressively. I can't really tell what it is, but it big. He ends up on my bumper, and now I know it's a Toyota, but I still don't know exactly what make. It's very familiar, and It has a custom grill and spoiler...one of those " Custom Ebay specials". One other thing, it has red Toyota badges. You know, like the red Honda badges . There's a car next to me and he's really eager to get around me. My curiosity is now peeked, I want to know what the heck kind of Toyota this is, so I speed up a little so he can go around and past me. Well, to my surprise, it's a Riced up Sienna! I wish to God I could have gotten pics of the front and side. Custom body kit in the front complete with spoiler, slightly lowered with custom rims. I quickly grabbed my phone and took a pic of the rear where you can at least see the red Toyota badge
Next time I see this guy, I'm gonna give him the thumbs up of approval
Quickish, can carry anything you want for any line of work or trips, and very reliable. What's not to like?
It's an awesome van, I'm on my second one... I just wouldn't rice it up is all. It's a family hauler, not sports car. He was getting attention alright, but for all the wrong reasons. You probably need to see it from the front and side to get a better idea of what Im talking about. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my phone out in time
there's a van community. FB group is 'vankulture community' and https://www.vankulture.com/ majority of the heavily modded ones are out of norcal and socal that i've seen on FB. we have a sienna but my wife isn't into modding so hands off for me

Interesting, I didn't know about this. This is the first "modded" Sienna I've seen. Mostly the front and custom wheels. I guess he thought it makes it faster, because he was driving pretty fast and weaving around traffic which made me think he was driving an SUV when he first came up behind me
And you can strap on a turbo for an extra 500 HP easy! 😉
Actually yes, it's hilarious but it's usually Hondas not Toyotas who do that. They have severe traction issues though......most of the time Toyota vans maybe get the TRD super but generally eBay turbos are for the Honda guys.
haha very common around here...that poor driving that is! and riced siennas too.
i'm looking to get a sienna but not the 1st gen example you see here, or the current model. it's a decent vehicle, and fairly reliable so i get why they are still out there (and being modded).

I live and breathe Sienna. Buy the last gen before they did away with the 3.5L V6, stay away from the new hybrid, unless gas savings are a priority. Also stay away from the 2013 (which I have)...engine and trans are excellent, the rest of the quality is horrible

i say buy a 2016 or newer since after MY 2017 that they put in the new 8-speed and it's super sluggish at low speeds... same with the highlander
Damn, look at those rear wheels....they look like they are not even touching the ground LOL
My god. What is the point of installing wide tires with only 1/5 of it is going to touch? Those type of cars always set me off since it's so pointless....
