AMIRZA, this isn't about hating california, people with tin foil hats, and your post and related posts have been deleted.
if you can't post constructively here, please don't post in this thread at all.

"and free hydrogen for the first 3 years in Commiefornia"
Interesting. I've already unsubscribed to this thread, no interest in reading California bashing

So is Gavin Newsome planning to improve charging network before banning gas cars first? Currently, it’s still a challenge to own BEV without worrying about how to charge on long trips. I recently tried to charge at Electrify America since my car has 2 yr free,it wasn’t pretty trying to charge at public stations.

In Europe, those kind of news are now standard.
And in every country I read the same. The law isn't there yet, just the announce of the change, and everybody says the rich will be able to drive their jets and plow their yachts. Like... they know for sure it will be like that.
I honestly don't know. My opinion is that lots of us will be too poor to buy new cars in 2035 anyway and with the speed of climate change, there is a good chance we will be occupied dealing with something else.

While I generally support this transition, the reality is that mandating anything that isn’t going to take effect for another 13 years is posturing and it may as well have not been mandated at all. It can all be undone by a future administration or a future ballot proposition or whatever. No point getting bent out of shape by what might happen as there will be inevitable twists and turns between now and then. With that said, the transition is happening anyway. EVs are already the best sellers in California, and it supply were better they would sell even more of them.

Have to say that 1) first year of the pandemic when everyone stayed home the air quality in my home town in N. CA improved markedly. 2) The marketplace won't change by itself, capitalist forces won't cause a switch to a more expensive, less useful transportation system; 3) I personally hate it when government forces me to do something (like pay taxes or buy an ev car.). I'll drive my RCF for as long as I can find gasoline for it.

It took 25 years for hybrid electric to capture 10% of the market. They are STILL more expensive than a non hybrid equivalent. Politicians, should not be doing this. These energy policies , will just make everything more expensive

The same company that said EVs are worse for the environment than gas vehicles? Nah must be a different Toyota.

+ it only bans sales of new ICE vehicles. Would be funny if the ban gets revoked due to a lack of interest in ICEs (beyond special models) anyways.

The biggest issue will be the charging. Are people going to be waiting 30 minutes while others charge up then they have to wait themselves another 30 minutes ? The lines will be crazy. We better start converting 50% of all gas stations to Electric now in order to help relieve this. I'm sure charging will be faster by that point but we will see.

80 percent of EV owners charge at home and are fully charged every day. The only time you ever have to worry about stopping for charging is if you drive over 150 miles per day or you are on a trip. I've already done three 390 mile trips (each way) with zero issues charging. And with superchargers it doesn't take 30 minutes, it takes between 15 to 18 minutes to give you 200 miles range
