We need a sub-forum opened for the 5th gen RX, a few of us are clustered into one thread on the 4th gen sub-forum.

So it tends to help everyone involved.

I think what's truly changed, though, is that people are more open about embargoes existing and what date(s) they will lift.

Cheers!
Agree. Certainly when you think back to the age of print media - if you have a magazine on a 3 month publication schedule, by the time you go to print, a daily or weekly periodical has made your story obsolete.

Really not all that different with the more sophisticated websites vs. blogs, and the time it may take to get a write up "live." All the little guys would be at a competitive disadvantage.

I think someone like Alex on Autos would disagree. It takes time and effort for him to cut and edit all his footage; seems unfair for a big "car magazine" website, with its resources, to get their write up on line while folks like Alex are still working on publishing their reviews.

Power options are lacking. Too close to a Versa in style and power while being a higher end model than the NX.

I saw the new RX Fsport model in person and it looks great to me for what is is. Much better than last generation.

The interior quality was very subpar to me for a luxury vehicle.
Plastic trim and dash pieces were flimsy and seats were obviously not leather.

I’m sure they will sell great.

Exactly. Take my mother-in-law. She loved her RX, it didn't matter to her whether the dash materials were leather or plastic. To her, the ride quality, reliability, and safety were most important.

That has been a problem with Lexus vehicles for a number of years now......ever since they started the cost-cutting binge about 15 years ago or so. Throughout the 90s and early 2000s, Lexus did some of the best vehicles in the world, but then the bean-counters started entering the picture.

Lexus today is reminiscing how they built the ls400 so well. In Japan it’s part of their museum collection which gets studied within Lexus.

There is no one left at Lexus who were part of that design and engineering team.

Sub forums is a place for discussions to die.

Lexus is stuck as an entry level to mid range luxury brand. They can certainly build all their vehicles like the LS400 if they choose to, but it will basically cost the same or more than its German counterparts. The typical luxury buyer will want the latest and greatest shiny new toy, not 7 to 10yr old vehicles of the same design costing the same or more than its competitors. They have no choice but to cost engineer their way to lower pricing. The first gen RX was a masterpiece focused on luxury. Now its all creaky and rattly and loud oh and "sporty" for what its worth.
