It' a rumor but the reason it's hard to locate the way this new C63 sounds is bc AMG has an embargo because "it's not ready yet" or something like that.
If you’re hoping for the exhaust note you won’t get it in this video. According to another Youtuber, AMG has an embargo on showcasing the sound of the C63 because “they’re not fully ready yet.”

Most new performance cars sound like crap and have dumb rev limiters.
Its bad enough ICE is going away but they are ruining the last ones remaining.
The new SL63 I drove was much quieter than LC500 and sounds much tamer than the old AMGs

i'm not too concerned with the engine itself as far as being tuned 'within inches of its life' and all that... the inline 4 is an inherently very strong, stout design that's basically been optimized to perfection at this point
all the hybrid stuff worries me much more in terms of out of warranty bills

definitely not a car to own out of warranty.

It’s more than 700lbs. heavier than the 6.2L V8 cars, that’s my point. Those cars were smaller in general anyways (which was a customer issue) so it’s not really a good direct comparison. The last-gen is a better comparison point.
CAFE did not cause Mercedes to go this design direction. That’s just not true. Mercedes could’ve easily maintained their old direction and sailed through CAFE standards. Mercedes CO2 restrictions in Europe have continued to dictate their decisions right down to them including the PHEV capability despite it only having an 8 mile range. U.S. salespeople are being directed to omit the plug-in capability from their sales pitch when they go through training.

What is the curb weight and has anyone seen any MPG numbers?
Don't forget you get to plug this car in, too. Someone pointed out the MB salespeople are literally supposed to omit that when trying to sell these.

4654 lbs, no EPA numbers yet. Mercedes is concerned about their WLTP rating regardless. EPA will likely be less favorable.

Batteries...electric motors.... all increase mass...and make it more costly. The green push will always be more expensive and this is slower than the previous model.
