Why, was it in demand and selling in large numbers? Sales usually dictate this type of business decision.

Looking at these numbers, Tesla did well but looks like demand is saturating.

More competitors and ones that actually builds cars for a living. It was bound to happen. Plus buyers and potential buyers of evs are still small. More players going for a small pie, someones going to go hungry.

i don't think competition is much of an issue for tesla. i think it's slowing global demand for vehicles, plus tesla's are not exactly cheap vehicles now. having said that, tesla said their issue was shipping logistics, not lack of demand.

interesting thing about tesla is they've jacked up prices, what, 20-30% in the last couple of year!? so as they work to lower costs and increase supply, they have the ace in the hold of lowering prices.

tesla's competitors (including mainstream brands like ford, hyundai, kia, gm, etc) just seem incapable of delivering vehicles in any significant numbers.

Yeah tesla said logistics but it was more than just logistic that caused the plunge today. It was more about demand as they say or excuse to sell.

when you're priced for 'always an upside surprise' (beyond perfection) any doubt will bring a thudding fall.
