Admittedly Lexus backpedaled on those promised features in the ad following the GS's refresh. The 2.0T and NuLuxe became the standard.

Yes. Especially for the US market. In ours, the V6 and leather was still the base model until it ended in 2020.

It’s funny seeing Lexus take away and undo all their advantages against competitors in the last 10 years, which is a high level of standard equipment and smooth engines.

This has nothing to do with marketing the GS today. Why can't the RX use advertising like that GS ad, promoting the benefits of the RX over the competition instead of "Wizard of Oz" nonsense? "Hey, you all are brainwashed into automatically assuming the German brand is better." THAT's what the GS ad is saying.

Exactly. Ads can be informative. Speaking to its target audience with a bit of intelligence. Not dumbed down nonsense.
