You have to buy a car: 1990-1999 model year. What are you choosing?

It actually just occurred to me that I never owned a 90s car. I had an 88 CR-X, then went to a 2001 Saturn, followed by a 2006 Scion.

Bright yellow, manual, and at the time, the fastest FWD production car in history.
I did not forget about the Supra. But a Mark IV that I'd actually want to drive would cost WAAAAY more than I'd be willing to pay.

I liked a lot of vehicles built during that decade, but I thought the most interesting one (and probably my favorite) was the 2nd-Generation 1996-2000 Saturn S-series. It had number of unique design/engineering features....and one of the most customer-friendly dealer-sales/service policies ever seen in the auto industry. This became a true Cult-Car.....customers loved them.
^^^ The Silver Plum was my favorite Saturn color
^^^^There was even a Right-Hand-Drive version for Postal-Carriers.

Without kids though and without the current ridiculous prices it would be a black on black 1997 anniversary edition MKIV SupraTT. I daily drove mine when I had it for over a year and it was a great daily driver and I still miss it to this day.

LS400
SC300 with a MK4 driveline
LX470
RX300 (we had 3 lol!)
S600
Bentley Arnage
C5
911 Turbo
Jeep WJ......oh wait a sec. Seems I already have one of these.
Many good cars to choose from IMO, some of the best Lexus cars ever made are from that era. Funny enough one of my cars that I commonly use is from 1999 so I can say I do use something from that era lol!

1999 Saab Viggen in electric blue. 4 of my first 5 cars were Saabs, and all of them great. Really ahead of their time in terms of using a small turbo engine to generate decent torque and fuel economy.
Or a late 90's Integra GSR. Loving my new 2023 Integra 6MT despite the so-so looks. Bone stock please!!

Been there, done that. New vehicles purchased that decade were:
1993 Honda Accord EX 4 door 5 speed;
1994 Ford Chateau Club Wagon (went back as a lemon);
1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (12 month lease);
1996 Chrysler Town and Country; and
1999 Honda Odyssey.

I think overall the 90s was the decade of the best Japanese cars. For the most part, they were better in performance, tech and value over German and American cars.
In the 2000s was a golden area for German brands with special AMG and M cars.
