The turbo 3-pot in the Trailblazer/Encore GX, although not without some minor vibration from 1500-2000 RPM (the torque-peak range) is actually more pleasant to drive than some N/A four-bangers I've sampled. But, to be fair, it obviously doesn't compare with most four-cylinder turbos...the long-used 2.0T from VW/Audi was, IMO, especially impressive. Even some luxury-class vehicles, like the now-discontinued Lincoln MKZ sedan, used a 2.0T. The Trailblazer and Encore GX, though, are small and light enough that they don't need that kind of power, although it wouldn't hurt to have an extra cylinder in that small 1.3L displacement for added smoothness.

Buick now has much of the data for the 2024 Encore GX on its website.

The new design is starting to grow on me somewhat, but I still don't like it as much as the 1Gen.

that page doesn't even mention engines.
exterior looks nice but interior looks very weak to me.

1.2L three, 137 hp
1.3L three, 155 hp

CVT on the FWD models, 9-speed auto on AWD. Agreed that the exterior is well-done. I think the interior looks fine for a $27k (base) - $33k (Avenir) CUV. It's not a luxury car, but it doesn't cost what one does either.

No changes to the powerplants....still the same pair of turbo threes. An electric version will eventually be in the works.

The front end, to me, looks like the Ford Escape....it could have been done a little better. I'll withhold more comments on the new interior until I see it up close, sit in it, and sample it. It will be released in May....and you can bet the farm I'll be on the list for a test-drive.

The old GX was surprisingly plush and handsome inside for something in this size and price range (I have the mid-level Select version). As I told bit, I'll withhold comment on the new interior until I sit in it.

That's one reason why I like Buicks...they are usually comfortable, at least with the standard tires, and give you a generally premium product for a somewhat less-than-premium price.

The engine power ratings are quite low for this model.

thanks, i kinda knew that, my point was, buick is obviously keeping these stunning powerplants a secret.

They are adequate for the way that most people drive these vehicles....they are not sports cars.
