BMW, Porsche has done the same thing with huge price increases for 2023MY along with removing certain features.

The Mach 1 I ordered in March now costs $3k + more for same exact build and its still 22MY.

Japanese brands are only ones I think that haven’t raised prices.
Supra and 86/BRZ are huge bargains right now and will probably have significant increases for 2024MY.

That is the difference between, what in economics, is known as Demand/Pull vs. Cost/Push inflation. We have seen gross examples of both in the last couple of years. Last year, it was mostly Demand/Pull inflation as the excessive demand for new vehicles went after a sharply-reduced supply due to several factors which hampered new-vehicle production. That started the inflation-ball rolling. Now, the inflation and increased costs have become so well-entrenched into economy that the inflation we are now seeing is mostly a result of Cost-Push, where higher costs of production are now forcing automakers to raise prices even further, independent of customer demand. It is either that or lose money on each vehicle. As you note inflation has (officially) been between 8 and 9% now for a number of months, but, in some areas, such as grocery prices, actual increases have been a lot more. If you don't have coupons, buy lower-priced store-brand items, or take advantage of sales (the new Amazon-Fresh line of grocery stores, for example, has some interesting bargains), it is shocking what groceries can run now, in some stores. Even store-brand items, which are generally cheaper than national name-brands, have seen big price increases.

About half of the government actually works and produces...the other half just come and occupy space. Ask me how I know.

So glad I already bought my F Sport and was able to make a $3,000 profit on my trade in when I did…
