Toyota Is Planning Price Hikes, Still Deciding How High to Go
Following surging input costs and reported regional quarterly operating losses, the company is warning of impending price increases.

"We are really racking our brains trying to come up with the appropriate pricing level," chief communications officer Jun Nagata said at Toyota's November 1 quarterly earnings announcement. "We have begun to reflect those higher prices into the vehicle as much as possible."

Also most Toyota/Lexus vehicles sold here are manufactured in North America so the yen has literally zero impact on those factories and supply chains.

Lots of ways to increase prices. Delete the base model. Expand the top end stuff. Toyota Corolla hatch has no base anymore. New hybrid awd Corollas which expands the price point. Delete a lot of content as well.

Not really if you think about it. Inflation is 8.5%, base price of an S Class is over $100,000, so a $6,500 increase is ~ 6%. That 4 Runner hike is a way bigger %. A well loaded S Class is $150,000+ so we're talking 10%.

Carmakers HAVE to raise prices in line with inflation or their prices are going down. In light of inflation a 6.5% increase is actually a 2% price reduction.
