I called Costco. $1000 lower than last year. I’m so happy

people who pay monthly, there is a 3% surcharge. Can’t believe people get shafted by pay monthly

I guess I'm luckier than some of you as my State Farm cost, including all the usual discounts and including Drive Safe & Save discount, for my IS350 beginning in April will be $487. on an annual basis. I do pay by the month for all my coverages for a cost of $1.00 per month. That's half of what it would be with no discounts.

The Drive Safe discount alone is about $200. per six months. But that can really bite you (actually not hurt, but no credit discount) if you drive agressive at all, or even just moderate by most standards.

be nice... not everyone has your available cash to pay a year at once.

In addition to that, some people who do pay monthly anyway, because they pay little or no surcharge, so smoothing expenses is nice. Not every company charges 3%, which I agree is crazy high (unless that's the fee for monthly billing on a credit card).

Insurance rates are heavily regulated by states. Billing fees and such, not as much. Such fees as the 3% mentioned add substantially to an insurance company's revenues.

Default Costco is no go for me.

I'm paying under $800 per year, and it ended by July. I tried to get a quote from Costco online and it like $754 per 6 months. It's crazy.

I used to like just paying every 6 months when I was at State Farm but Erie gave a nice discount to pay it all up front so I just paid it.
