That was their long-term test, of course they're going to mention ownership costswhen they keep the car for 40k miles. In their standard road test they kept it to 3 sentences: Tested: 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Defines Awesome (caranddriver.com)

With a CVT to boot.

I really don’t feel like digging up past stuff I’ve read. They did it with the LX570 also when it was still out, that it rated second worst on some stupid list. Second worst of all time. Who cares? I get 20mpg in mine which would puzzle them. How many LX570 owners on here complain about the 5.7?

These crazy TRX etc. gas guzzlers all have insane waiting lists. I heard every Z06 is sold out, I hope it’s not true.

In any case this is an Accord thread. I just can’t believe they ripped the plenty efficient yet insane fast 2.0t away. Shame on you, Honda.

Efficient, yes, Insanely fast...a hard no. Although way better than the 1.5L for sure. Almost bought the 10th gen 2.0t Sport back in 2018

mainstream car makers will make EVs more and more appealing if they release more duds like this unless all you care about is driving range.

I saw a 5.4 second 0-60 time for this thing with the 2.0t. That’s ridiculous (in the best way) for a mainstream family sedan.

I almost bought the 10th gen 2.0t Sport back in 2018. It was quick enough, but I don't think 0 to 60 in 5.4 seconds. I wasted one in my IS350, which does 0 to 60 in 5 seconds

That said, the 2.0t is a pretty good engine. Although I still prefer the 9th gen 3.5L, which is actually a little slower, but smoother

Uh, yeah. Honda made some of the best 6 cylinders around. I hated when they ripped the V6 away. I owned a 6 speed TL, remember? It got 31 mpg highway.

Its just from another era at this point.

Thats one paragraph, and I think thats a perfectly reasonable thing to put in their long term test.

People do care about this. My business partner LOVES the TRX, but the reason he won't buy one is the fuel use. So...he would benefit from this information.

I'm a subset of "people," and comprehensive long-copy reviews are EXACTLY what I want. I can go to Google and get 20 sound-bite-length takes in 20 seconds. Considered judgments and detailed information are decidedly harder to find.

Z06 is absolutely sold out. The larger dealers have several thousand orders, and will get at most a few hundred units per year, so they will only get a fraction of their "sold orders" throughout the lifecycle. Smaller dealers have hundreds of orders and will get single or low 2-digit units per year. Chevrolet closed the order books months ago.

Its 5.4 in theory with perfect traction and 91+ octane fuels, and it then tapers off HARD past that. It was very very decent for the price point and what it was with massive potential that is somewhat easy to exploit. However in real life they would have difficulty against even something like a LS430 and the LS460 despite being on paper the same as a 460 to 60.....they just never really had a chance vs the latter on the street and there was a universe of difference in response and all RPM power.

0-60 is too easy to cheat these days, 0-100 is more of a good judge and as always with any turbo car you need to check for lag. Dead zones in the powerband and constant transmission shifting tricks are all I can notice now even with something like my 4.0TT vs a massive engine with similar output and the same transmission.

I just watched the new accord review before I headed out back to work (couldn't sleep, woke up very suddenly/completely) and my god that looks bad. The insanely lowered fuel economy doesn't shock me AT ALL, when I last had a rental ES250 I had worse MPG than my usual cars if I drove it the same way. Smaller engines have to strain to near/at full max to keep up with real engines and that results in insane fuel useage and unpleasantness.

I love the look of this new one though, the accord has always looked great to me and it keep just getting better and better.

The hybrid system and engine seems to be more refined that any of Toyota's offering. Doesnt sound loud, strained or buzzy. Not that I've driven the new Accord but the 2.5 Hybrid in Toyotas just arent impressive in the Sienna and RAV4.

I removed 10 posts (edit:12) about the 1992 Accord. Please keep the thread on topic, which is the new 11th generation Accord.

Moderator Edit: This thread is about the 2023 Accord. If you continue to add posts about the 1992 after having been told to stop, the thread will be closed.
