OK, first, don't come to false conclusions.......even by military standards, I wasn't talking about large or powerful weapons, and I made that clear. Second, I acknowledged the fact that the risks may outweigh the benefits. But it was obvious that the police were in over their heads with this one until the very end. The fact is that this guy was desperate and would stop at literally nothing.

Even with that being said, it's not that simple and this is coming from an Army Infantry Veteran. It is not a live theater where you simply call in military support real time, this is US soil.

I think what Bitkahuna was trying to say is, Are you kidding me?? You wouldn't use any type of weapon, military or non military to take someone out for stealing a car, as much as vermin as they are. I have friends and family in law enforcement, and a good PD will think of public safety first. Just like in medicine, benefits vs risk. SoCal has some of the heaviest traffic in the region, and sometimes it's better to let them go so they don't kill anyone.

Let's theorize that you hit the car with a precision weapon, and he crashes into a family, maybe your family. Or debris injures and maimes innocent people. How would you feel if you were that cop? Took out the bad guy, but killed a child or baby, or injured someone unnecessarily. That's one of the reason many police departments began to rethink car chases...is it worth chasing a manic who doesn't care about other lives, or is it better to pull back, track them with a helicopter and arrest them later?

Leaving keys inside the cars...

Unless of course he took the keys from that family.

I believe the mother injured her rest or arm trying to keep her son from attacking the guy. If some one runs in my house and wants my keys, take them and GTFO.

I think last time I played GTA it was in 1998 on my brother in laws PS1. All I remember was I skipped all the missions and just went on a rampage stealing cars and running over people. The rest is all a blank

not to go too off topic here but it's always disappointing to me when i hear that someone's gta experience is i just drove around and caused havok for 15 minutes, the actual plot of the games are amazing and there's a surprising depth to the characters

kind of like saying yea I watched the sopranos but skipped all the melfi scenes lol

It's not about risk. It's about the legality (or illegality) of the US military conducting military activities on the streets of the US.

Haha I know what you mean. I just got so engrossed in all the mass mayhem, the missions became secondary. If I could do it all over again, I would do it right!

He was directly in the line of crossfire. They had to remove him from that hazard. But he resisted, so they cuffed him to get him out of there.

Try that here and it will ply out very differently since everyone here at minimum has their carry guns on them.
