2023 Toyota Prius

it depends on where you live. Sure anyone can drive a 800hp up a Texas ramp. 150hp will do totally fine in the Bay Area.
Also, a 200hp hatch is always more fun than a 400hp fat SUV.
different scenarios just can’t be compared.
back to the topic, 220hp for a Prius, more than enough. You could even have some fun with it, if it has something wider than 195.

great, then you understand better.
There is very little chance you could open full throttle anywhere.
Also explain it, why those model3Ps are always parked on the left lanes while the beater Civics are passing everyone?
You just need enough power. The rest is all about willingness to drive fast, Waze and radar detectors.

back to the prius, obviously not something you want, but it will be great for many. different strokes.
maybe throttle back on the caffeine.

Well, how fast do you EXPECT drivers to go up and down those 40-degree hills in San Francisco, with stoplights at every block, that are probably more fit for mountain-goats than for automobiles?

@mmarshall I don't live anywhere near SF... it's almost 50 miles away

True, you said "Bay Area", which is more than just SF, but those SF hills are famous, and are usually the first things one think of when driving in the Bay Area is mentioned...especially when one complains about slow drivers, as you did.

Sorry, no way the Prime even comes close to the Model 3, which BTW gets over 100 MPGe, drives hundreds of times better, and has an extensive charging infrastructure. I've driven both, and in no way does the Prime even come close. I wouldn't even consider a Prime, although the Prime is a really good crossover and I would consider it over any other hybrid/gasoline brand... and EV'S didn't exist

The Prius will be for people with 1 car, possibly 2 cars. It eliminates range anxiety, still fast enough for people that arent racing their cars on the streets and for people that drives short distances, they may never have to visit a gas station either with the Prime variant.
