I suspect one is the backup camera and the other is for the digital rearview mirror.

Hell no, way too underpowered. I like being able to keep up with a Mustang GT and get 100 MPG doing it

I wonder if people would actually be willing to pay $60K for a Prius like they would a Model 3.

There is no way a Prius is going to be priced anywhere near $60k. No way. It could hit the $40k mark with dealership markups, but even that is pushing reality to it's limits. No way, sorry bro

The current Prius Prime starts at 28k tops out at 34k. With all these upgrades.. I'm predicting it'll start around 32k and top out at 40k.

Now... a GR Prius I can picture getting near 60k if it were to ever happen.

Major styling improvement from the older models Imo.

My dad bougt a new one in 2012 and boy that car was hard for me to look at, had to squint a lot, not a looker.
He now drives a new Rav 4 and doesn't miss the Prius cuz he likes the extra room.

2012 Prius just for fun

That's my point, this isn't remotely a competitor to the Model 3 or any EV of that caliber. Not in price, not in power, not in any metric whatsoever that isn't shared by any other standard Toyota hybrid. The only EV this will be competitive against is a Chevy Bolt (which is slightly faster too lol).

I almost leased a Bolt in 2020, but my wife didn't like how it looked. It was also almost $100 a month more than our Ioniq EV, but to be fair it also has more range and power than the Ioniq EV. I will say it drives really good, there is no 4 cylinder that exists that can match it's smoothness. I'm trying to get my daughter to get a 2023 Bolt to replace her Camry, which is starting to exhibit problems. It's nearing 200k and is getting close to money pit territory

I don't see why the Prime wouldn't compete with the Model 3. It'll probably be considerably cheaper, decently quick, and works as an EV for most commutes. Plus the EV charging infrastructure in this country is still pretty spotty, I'd rather have the gas motor while that gets built out.

It would compete with a Model 3 the same way a Corolla Hybrid would, which is to say not remotely.

Almost is a close call.
I don't think you would like it after being spoiled in a Polestar.

Have a sit down in one and tell me how comfy those seats are. haha
I did already and something stabbed me in my back side as I sat sideways in the seat getting into it.
Got back in my almost 20 year old Lexus and was happy.

I think the Prius will kick it's tail in every way if the price point is close.

Sorry, no way the Prime even comes close to the Model 3, which BTW gets over 100 MPGe, drives hundreds of times better, and has an extensive charging infrastructure. I've driven both, and in no way does the Prime even come close. I wouldn't even consider a Prime, although the Prime is a really good crossover and I would consider it over any other hybrid/gasoline brand... and EV'S didn't exist

I did sit in one (I test drove one), and yes not to comfy, but I was looking for a cheap commuter for my wife, who was driving the Sienna and spending over $350 a month on gas, and another few hundred a year on maintenance. Luckily the Ioniq EV is more comfortable, looks more normal, and is only $190 a month for the lease (the Bolt was going to be about $250 a month)
