Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition will start at Nearly $64,000 with no added performance.

No question the M340i is more appealing, the Type S is a limited volume top end model. Most TLXs are not Type S.

I never said my car was fully loaded I don't have the 360 Camera or Laser lights, but I have everything else, including Track Package (Extra Cooling, Larger Brakes etc), M Performance Side Skirts and Front lip, Vernasca Leather , HUD etc. MSRP was 63K and my Broker got them down to 58K so regardless. It's not much different even at MSRP. Type S's at the dealer are going for mid 60's with no budge on MSRP. Used Type S's with 10K+ miles are high 50's.

You know, I am a little salty about the lack of folding mirrors on the IS 350. My wife's 330i has them. Time to trade up to a TLX? Or... I could just get a Bimmer.
That's the problem - I'd rather an M340i over a TLX Type S any day. It's roomier inside, gets better fuel mileage, and can be had with RWD as well. And it's faster in a straight line and lighter.
I would say "reliability" would be a good reason to go Acura, but seems middling given how BMW has improved a lot in recent years and Acura... hasn't.
I guess I could nitpick the BMW's steering feel, but it would be just that - a nit-pick.
I love that the TLX Type S exists, but in reality it does not strike me as that appealing at over $60k. I know it's a special edition, but it's knocking on the door of the IS 500 LE, which had a V-8. I'd rather have a "normal" IS 500 Premium at that price. On the other hand, a standard TLX Type S in the $50k's? Now we're talking.

Has any of the Acura PMC editions been a success? It seems odd to me that this brand would invest in these trim levels instead a stand alone product that is genuinely enthusiast focused. Sort of like those TRD versions of a Camry, cool on paper I guess, but who buys that? They might as well make a TRD version of the Avalon while their interested in throwing away resources.

I dunno, the current car market is annoying. Every time a limited-run car comes out, I get slightly more jaded.

That fully loaded Type S doesn't have a 360 Camera, HUD , folding mirrors, or even Homelink for your Garage. Not to mention the Acura Dealer near me is selling the Type S for 7K over MSRP. It looks nice but that's as far as it goes.

Correct it doesn't not have 360 Camera or HUD. But I can tell you from experience the Type-S has folding mirrors, and Homelink which I setup for my friend on his. I suggest you do some research and not settle always on your local dealer. Hendrick stores sell for MSRP (corporate policy) and my buddy got his for $62K tax included OTD. It drives nice on the track too, the SH-AWD is outstanding.

And why do you think a dealer is able to ask $7k over MSRP? Because there is demand. Hard to say a vehicle isn't worthwhile when its commanding over MSRP.

No, Dealers being greedy doesn't mean there is a demand. The car has been sitting on the lot for nearly 6 months. There is no Demand for the car like that. Just look how many pre owned Type S's are already available with ridiculously low miles. Why? because the car is worse than all the competition.
