Default Stopped by Mercedes, ADMs are GONE!

So I dropped off my S560 for a repair this morning and walked through the showroom at Euro Motorcars in Bethesda, ADMs are GONE. Nothing had an ADM, including AMGs. They had at least 7 EQS sedans, no ADMs. Their garage was full of inventory. This dealer had the highest ADMs in the area.

So, breathe a sigh of relief on this one.

I'm genuinely curious how much money my local Mercedes dealer lost this year. They went on a crazy speculative buying spree of used G-wagens that they were hoping to sell at massive markups ($100-200k over sticker), and at one point had over 70 in inventory. Then the market for them reset in a major way.

Now they're down to 11, and the most expensive one is a 2021 G63 with <1000 miles listed for $222k. Which yes, is still $40k over sticker, but is probably less than they paid for it. I wouldn't be surprised if they lost $3-4M on G classes alone.

I mentioned this in the EQS thread. Not only is ADM gone at dealers, but they're offering discounts on many of their models. My recent trip to a couple of BMW dealers proved to be very similar.

Not surprisingly. Interest rates are rising. Economy is slowing. Inflation is bad. Wealthy people know not to buy when times are tough

Yeah of course... A dealership near me never has mark up. They want long term customers and chose not to nickel and dime during tough time. They did it right. I will always consider them first. Another dealership near by marked up and backed out when things slowed down. Most others followed.

Almost right. Some when they buy, they just buy. What's considered expensive to you and me, is not for them.

People who are truly wealthy don't worry about ups and downs, they don't have to. If you want to buy a car like this, a down economy is a good time because you can get a great deal on it. But...for someone like me a huge chunk of my income is derived from selling houses, I ain't buyin' nutthin.

ADMs may be gone but the overall prices at MSRP are up.

I wonder if the increases to the prices in the last couple of years is a bigger % than in years before the pandemic/recent economy? Any guesses?

Let's see what happens in the Porsche market, ADMs rampant there. I would never pay over sticker for any AMG - that's why it stands for All Money Gone upon resale/trade, they don't hold their values at all.

Much better off to have the price in the MSRP…

But AMGs are awesome and fun. You gotta pay to play.

Whaaaat! AMGs are fun cars haha

Paying over MSRP is not as bad as $15 avocado toast.

Was at my local Lexus dealership today for service. Interestingly, in the showroom the ES's, NX's and IS's did not have an ADM. They had 1 LC convertible and 1 LX both showing an ADM markup of 20k. If inventory picks up, I'm sure those ADM's will also be history, except for the LX which looks like it may be in tight supply for some time.
