This is probably old news for most, but thought I'd put it out here since it arrived in my in box this morning.

This was the April 2022 announcement of the Lexus RZ cousin to the Toyota BZ series which has the same paltry 225 mile range and slow DC charging. It appears that Toyota now realizes that this is not good enough and is going back to the drawing board for its BEVs.

Does this car actually exist yet for consumers? I'm curious, because prior to buying our Model Y, I had checked our local Lexus dealer's inventory for a few months, and this car was never available to look at. I assumed that it just hasn't been released to the public yet.

In UK. I think the new RZ is quite a poor attempt by Lexus. Not worth it. Will sell very bad in the US. Only think I really like is the steer by wire steering system, that is quite a bit ahead of any other EV maker including Tesla.

I'll reserve final judgment until I've seen it live and driven it. I do have a deposit on the RZ (#100+ at my dealer apparently), but I'm hoping with the recent bZ/Solterra fiasco, Lexus might go back and revamp some of the features or have a do-over completely. There are certainly some un-Lexus like touches just based on photos, and pricing in North America is still a big unknown.

Based on the UK pricing, they are slotting it between the NX450h+ and RX450h+, so my guess is we will see a similar price slot for the RZ here as well.

Don't think we'll ever see any real world deliveries till the spring, at the earliest. And I don't expect to have to make a decision on my deposit until end of next year at the earliest.

You know what. Your right. I wrong. I will reserve judgement as well. Let me see it in person, to be sure.
