I don't think EV's are bad. I'd buy one. However, it wouldn't be my first choice for heading to the Sierras in the middle of a storm. I've been using lithium-ion batteries for decades in all types of camera and video equipment. I can tell you that when the temps drop, so does the performance of these batteries. It's just my personal observation and bias. I'm not trying to convince anyone to not buy an EV.

^^^^ I watched most of the video. While I am not necessarily a Hate-EV person myself, this guy, IMO, is simply too much of an apologist for the clear shortcomings of the current state of EVs and charging-infrastructure. He also demonizes ICEs too much.

AAA insurance just released a study that shows EV's lose over 40% of their range when temperatures drop to 20 degrees F. Part of the loss is due to use of the heater, the other is the effect of the cold on the lithium ion batteries.

That is a tough sell in the cold climates. it's -10 today where I am. A bZ4X will have about a 275km today. Does not work for me.

You're planning on driving more than 275 km today?

That's just not true. Here in California we experience heatwaves in the summer where the temp exceeded this year 115 F, and everyone I knew that had Tesla's had no issues charging using Tesla super chargers. Now EA's do experience issues in extreme heat because according to an EA repair tech I talked to the chiller is not designed correctly and fails, which is the root problem EA chargers are facing, summer and winter

Sure. I love to just get up and go to Niagara Falls. Hit the casino. Watch a music show at the Fallsview. Maybe the cross the border to go to the Olive Garden.

I have one less than a mile from me. I would much rather drive to 100 miles to eat, than go to Olive Garden. Are the other Italian restaurants really that bad up there?
