To be honest, I usually don't either. I was being facetious.
That I can't quite agree with.....at least at the D.C. show. At least some of the reps are quite sharp.....and a few that I'd even consider experts. But, I'll agree that we could use more of them.
No one knowledgeable is ever staffed at a car show--not even the dealer people themselves, and certainly not the models.

Those 21 year old girls dressed up like models with a lifetime of knowledge and all those years of car experience.
Yeah, let's be honest, nobody expects much from them.
They don't look like car geniuses, I'll put it that way... lol
Yeah, keep dreaming... They probably never seen under the hood. lmao

Whoever got her, though, seemed to have gotten a nice pick. .....although, of course, you don't always truly know someone from just what they are like in public. Some people can be nice in public, but very difficult to live with on a daily basis.

They are not all a bunch of robots, just reading off of cue cards or scripts. I actually more or less-befriended one of those ladies at the D.C. show, for several years. She was a little older than 21 (maybe 28 or 30?), but still very shapely, blonde, and attractive....and ended up working for three different auto manufacturers there. When I first saw her working at the show, she was in the Isuzu display, where, unlike some other manufacturers, the lady-reps didn't wear skimpy or flashy suits. She had on long pants on and a nice matching-color (muted-tan) suit coat with the company logo on it...a mature and classy outfit. We got to talking about cars and the market in general, and she was very outgoing and friendly, and seemed to at least know something about what she was doing. I saw her there again the next year....I think working for Isuzu again, and again we talked for a while when she was not actually on the floor narrating. The following year, I saw her in the Saab display (still in a nice mature non-flashy outfit)...she had gotten a new job. Again, we talked for a while (one of my best friends was with us), and, by then, she was starting to have some trust in me as someone who could advise her. She told me she was driving a older GMC SUV (I can't remember if it was a Yukon, Jimmy, Acadia, Terrain, or whatever), and needed a new vehicle, so I discussed some options with her. The following year, at the show, she was working for Cadillac..once again, in the nice black suit/pants outfit and company logo that the Cadillac ladies wear. We talked again...and my friend got a picture of us at the show. (as you can see, I was a little bigger and heavier in those days than I am now). This was before I had a cell-phone camera, so the shot isn't that good. The following year, she wasn't at the show at all....I asked about her at the Cadillac booth, and they told me she had gotten married.

Geko29, you will like this one: According to a number of links, even if not the most important one in terms of product-introduction or press-attendance like Detroit or L.A. the Chicago Auto Show is considered the nation's largest...using over 1.2 million square feet of floor-space at the McCormick Center.

Give Euro Motorcars or your Chrysler dealer a call and see if they can get you and your son some free passes
IF dealerships are going to get any passes this year, they should start to come in right about now...the last week before the show starts on the 20th.
And, if it is like previous years have been, the Toyota display will have periodic Trivia-Shows (about 90 minutes or so apart) where the reps ask the kids car-questions (mostly about Toyotas) and give out prizes for correct answers....your son may like that.
I used to join that show.....I'd give out some correct answers, and take the prizes they'd give me and turn around, and (if suitable for them), give them to the little kids next to me...it was so nice to see their little eyes light up with joy to get them. I've never been a father myself, but it was still a joy to see that on their little faces.
