I don't believe Toyota is even really trying to convert people who normally buy domestic pickups(such as myself). They know it's largely futile, we're simply not interested or gettable.
They sell the Tundra to provide an offering in that segment to Toyota car buyers who happen to need a pickup. This is just me talking out my ***, but I'd put money that greater than 70% of Tundra buyers already drive other Toyota vehicles. The captive audience is there and the added benefit for Toyota is it keeps them in house instead of going over to Ford or RAM and deciding they like those brands after experiencing their trucks.

Agreed. As I’ve said before, the Tundra is there for the Tacoma people to move up to when they want to bump up. I am one of those people, though I did consider the domestics when I made the switch. Freaking loved my Tacoma, though…

Makes a lot of sense to me.
If I have time later I may have to go to the website and see what cars and suvs get the V8.
I'm guesing the Caddy SRX is running a V-6 but prob take some time and see what's up.
