Default Ford Mustang Mach 1 - should I buy?

My Mach 1 that I ordered in March 2022 is finally at the dealer and ready for delivery.
It was stuck at a railroad yard for 3 months waiting to be shipped so who knows how bad the paint is. Ford has had a TON of issues with production delays which is not unique to other automakers.

Anyway the car is finally here and it’s middle of winter so my enthusiasm is not so high as it was. Also doesn’t help that our X3 lease is up and we need new family car but lease prices are still way over inflated.

Personally not a fan of the new Mustang styling even though it should be a superior car overall so afraid im going to regret not getting this Mach 1.
This would be my first V8 car and would have a manual back in the fleet!

You waited this long for it...why not. But I would say one thing, this is a type of purchase that if you are not enthusiastic about (and you don't seem to be enthusiastic), then I personally wouldn't

Check it over carefully and see if its condition passes your inspection. If it sat for three months, the battery may be dead, and the tire pressures off. Also keep in mind that winter in New York State means salt and abrasives on the road....in addition to potholes. You don't want to subject a brand new car to that.....particularly with that nice paint job.

BTW, I went to high school with the Original Mach 1............

I’m sure once I see it and hear it, I will be excited for sure.
Definitely new driving experience for me.

I checked on some other cars that I’m still waiting on and they will not be coming any time soon if ever.

I would absolutely take it. Great spec, and the best manual transmission that has ever been in a Mustang.

The dealer said its has no damage but i will be inspecting every inch to make sure paint / wheels etc are all in perfect condition as it was in the elements for a long time.

I don’t drive any of my nice cars in inclement weather so not concerned about that but this definitely is not the ideal time to buy it as its winter.

The 69 Mach 1 has always been one of my favorite Mustang designs!
Wish the new one had Shaker hood and real lights in the grill like the original.

If after seeing it up close, driving it and it feels good, then I would say buy it. One thing I want to mention is I grew up driving manuals, and I tried to go back to one a few years ago, but realized that as a daily it wasn't for me. Just keep that in mind if this is going to be a daily

I almost don’t even care if you don’t love it, I’m always going to say buy it because it’s new, cool and it’s not my money!

I like it! Being a Mach 1 makes it special. I agree it's good looking! Really hard to beat the way a Mustang V8 sounds. Just to have owned a V8 before they are gone is enough reason also.

The one other thing I want to mention is when I was in San Antonio in 2019, I rented a Mustang GT and lived with it for 4 days. A lot of power, sounded awesome, but back seat room was, let's just say not optimal. Also traction control was not very good, the back would step out way to easily. If the road was a little wet, it was downright scary. I almost spun the car making a right turn from my hotel onto the access road where people are driving freeway speeds.

Anyway, test drive it if you haven't already. I'm sure they have made a lot of improvements to TC and SC since I drove it last

Looks better than the "Mustang" Mach E.

The new gen Mustang looks pretty good to me. It has that American production factory look to it.

That's an amazing looking car. As someone who just transitioned back to a manual after 2 years without, go for it!!
