Default CA Front License Plate Wrap in Lieu of Bulky Metal Plate and Frame

Wondering if anyone in CA has one of these new license plate stickers? I've only seen them on a few cars in Los Angeles.

It obvious you have to have enough bumper placement room for these to fit properly.

This option sure looks cleaner then the typical legacy license plate system that most cars in California have.

One of the small concerns one might have would be how easy would it be to remove and steal, and then you would have to get a brand new set of license plates... which is just an issue you would have to deal with I guess.

I think I really like how this looks and it sure seems tempting.

Last question... if this was something we wanted to do here on California delivered vehicles, would we tell the dealer not to drill the front bumper before the car is actually delivered?

Is license plate drilling and mounting something dealers offer you when you go to pick up the car?

I could also see that you might tell the dealer not to drill the front plates before they take delivery of the vehicle from the factory, but several weeks later when the car actually arrives at the dealer, someone simply forgets "not to do this," because up until this point all cars required the drilling of the front bumper, and then when you go to pick it up... it's already been done.

This is the company that does it in CA.. Note, I've never used this company and do not know nothing about them.

Here's what it looks like.

I love these, but I do not see where it could go on the RX350h.

So.....how do you put the little square expiration-date-stickers on? Over the wrap?

They might attract a bored revenuer even more than not having a legit plate up front.

I'll probably be the only one to say I think the current set-up looks better than this bent and smeared version. Rather have it all upright and straight then tweaked and on angles.

I have never seen one of these on the road. I think the tow hook solution off to the side is the best implementation

In California does the plate stay with the vehicle or the owner? This would probably be an issue in states with a required front plate where the plates stay with the owner when the car is sold/traded.

You just peel it off. Its like clearbra or vinyl wrap

Issue is most cars anymore don't have an area on the front where this will fit, My Pacifica does, my S560 does not, the painted area is too narrow:

And some states are doing away with stickers. PA is one of those states ... but PA has rear plate only.

Yeah, I think this is the bigger issue. Neither my X1 nor my wife's Santa Fe has an area where you could wrap a plate on the front. I agree this would be the case for most cars today.

The plate stays with the vehicle, at least with standard issue plates. I don't know about personalized plates.
