We were able to test drive both a Polestar 2 and Model Y before we made our decision. They were both great experiences, low pressure, just told us where the demo vehicle was and let us be on our way.

On the other hand, when I contacted the Ford dealership to test drive a Mach-E, they immediately went into their treasure trove of shenanigans and started playing games with us. Asked for an agreed purchase price prior to letting us see the car, let alone test drive it. We didn't even bother to respond, and immediately crossed that car off the list and moved on.

Acura is making the right move if true.

Why don't you actually ask people who have bought online what they think instead of speculating? Dealerships spent 2022 screwing people, and now that they no longer have the upper hand, people are going to remember. I bought online, many of my friends, family and coworkers bought online, and I will buy my next vehicle online and never in my life set foot in a dealership

You keep assuming that you can't test drive these vehicles prior to ordering. That's simply not true - it's speculation.

Acura will not have enough ZDXs to spread them across dealerships so that's why they will do online sales.

At least, with this ZDX, it is more-sensibly-styled for function. The previous one was ridiculous.

Maybe they will do some kinda deal that the car can be returned or deal isn't final until the test drive at closing and delivery- since probably won't be able to test drive it beforehand.

Just ideas.

Totally agree. That response from the dealer is a bunch of nonsense.

Acura didn't bother to put any handles on those rear doors.....nobody in the right mind, above the age of four, would want to sit back there.

(No, seriously, yes, there are handles....they are built into the C-pillars (or what passes for C-Pillars), at the very back of the doors, in the dark moulding...they are of the pull-open variety)

Here's a close-up:

Don't waste your time.....stop trying.

This actually looks like a battery EV to me.

Nope...that was the original ICE version, introduced in 2010.
