i guess i need to see these in person. I already look at the Highlander as being pretty big and comparable in size to others already. selling one thats even longer is wild to me.
However, i will say it looks leaps and bounds better than the Highlander though. The Supra styled rear fenders on it look silly among other things i find unattractive about that SUV.

Grand Highlander vs. Pilot.
2nd Place: 2023 Honda Pilot Elite AWD
2nd Place: 2023 Honda Pilot Elite AWD
HIGHS: All the features for less money, easy-fold third row, seats eight with removable second-row center section.
LOWS: Soporifically slow, sleepy steering, annoying shifter.
VERDICT: The Pilot does its job without complaint, but also without thrills.

1st Place: 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Max Platinum AWD
1st Place: 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Max Platinum AWD
HIGHS: Surprisingly quick, clever interior layout, fits everything inside and still fits in a garage.
LOWS: No steering feel, third row heavy to stow, even worse shifter.
VERDICT: The Grand Highlander is family size but moves out like a smaller machine.

It's too big for us, but I'd definitely consider it if I were in the market.

Recently test drove a platinum hybrid max. On the short test drive, it drove pretty smooth. Has nice get up and go. Sport mode, provides unwanted fake engine noise thru the speakers. The interior space is as advertised. Tons of space even in the 3rd row. However my only grip, it didn’t have that premium feel so therefore we are waiting for the Lexus TX plug in. We are currently in a LX 570.
For example, the steering wheel adjustment is manual. And I didn’t test it but I wonder if the mirrors are auto adjustment when you select different memory seats. On my RAV4 Prime, the mirrors do not auto adjust with different memory seat settings.

i guess that's a comparison for nostalgia purposes... comparing just 2 "japanese" 3 row suv's. why aren't they compared to palisade and telluride or jeep wagoneer or many others?
i also don't want to drive a vehicle with a name as long as "Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Max Platinum AWD" lol

also not really a fair comparison as the highlander config is 6k more than the pilot.

Another C&D Comparison.
Grand Highlander vs. Telluride
(Apologies for the weird formatting. Not sure why it's coming out this way.)
Grand Highlander vs. Telluride
2nd Place: 2023 Kia Telluride SX Prestige AWD
2nd Place: 2023 Kia Telluride SX Prestige AWD
HIGHS: Feature-rich, fantastic styling, great value.
LOWS: So-so acceleration, less than accommodating for all sizes, wired phone mirroring.
VERDICT: Still the best value, but no longer the best overall.

1st Place: 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Max Platinum AWD
HIGHS: Carries the most cargo, strong fuel economy, lots of power.
LOWS: Higher price, cramped third row, Rubik's Cube shifter.
VERDICT: What the Grand Highlander lacks in pizazz, it makes up for in practicality.
