Wow, I’m impressed with the room behind the third row. Great overall package depending on the price.

really? it's not even selling yet and hyundai/kia have had YEARS of success with their 3 rows. and they're not standing still of course.

also, thought you were a fan of v6's which they have?

for 365hp that's terrible.

It's slightly better than I expected considering the much smaller RX5005 does it in 5.9 seconds. But compared to the turbo 6 cylinders in other competitors, yeah it's not remotely competitive with anyone except the MDX Type S.

I'm liking the ever increasing options for 3 row SUVs. This is a good effort by Toyota.

You can see all through the industry how having multiple options where fewer would do has hurt carmakers. Having more models than you need dramatically reduces profitability.

I don’t see why anybody would buy a regular Highlander over this, unless this is way more money. It’s only 5 inches longer, not enough to change drivability. Just a strange strategy for Toyota who typically does not do that kind of thing.

As for pricing, it’s not going to be north of 65K but I would be very surprised if the max hybrid Platinum is priced with a 5 in front of it. The CX90 will be a better vehicle but much smaller inside.

Highlander doesn’t make more than 300hp. There definitely is a market for both

On the top end, but most Grand Highlanders won’t be that, they will have the same 2.5 the Highlander has.

It would be like Jeep having two 3 row Grand Cherokees, one just slightly larger. Why? If this was the only Highlander everybody who buys a highlander now would buy this.

Now a vehicle like the Venza, sure that’s a different buyer.

But the more I see from this the more I like. Lots to be positive about for the TX also. This means the TX has the potential to capture GLS/X7 buyers who are more cost conscious.

I don't think a single GLS/X7 buyer would ever settle on a 4-cylinder lol.

I might settle for that max hybrid depending on how it feels. Cost is a factor there. Optioned the way we would want (NOT loaded) a GLS450 is about $94,000, and an X7 40i is about $85,000. If a TX500h is in the 80s it’s DOA

I fully expect the TX to be in the $80K range considering the RX500h can be optioned up to $72K.

It’s all in the way it’s packaged. No L or LE or XSE…it’s gonna start at almost $51K There is 100% a market for both. Regular HL is a world vehicle…this is a USA only design.

Toyota will dominate. They have a solution at every price point. And this will also take sales from the 3 row 4Runner limited. Land Cruiser Prado is coming to the USA as well

Lol the center console is unlively with just another large screen slapped on. Absolute snoozefest.

Absolutely fantastic design. Very clean, modern, and straight-forward. I love that they toned down the strange styling from other models. Hope the next Camry gets the same fix (front needs a big cleaning).
And it's about time Toyota added one of those trendy colors. Area 51, part II.

I mean.....it's a 4cyl turbo hybrid CVT. What do you expect? It's not going to perform like a 8 speed V8 with that output number.

It's okay and inline with how Toyota works, enough power for the job and very very rarely anything more.
