Yep, just ignore them and they will pass (literally). IF they are actively annoying/messing with me well, that's why I like fast cars since they can't keep up even if they wanted to.
Yep, just put them out of your mind. Which is admittedly hard to do at first. I used to drive so fast all the time that I still tense up when I see police, but then think to myself "whew" because I do absolutely nothing to warrant being pulled over anymore. That's a refreshing feeling.
Obviously I don't mean driving 50MPH holding up a bunch of 18 wheelers, I just mean I like to get into the right lane and cruise/zone when indicated.
Yeah, I see that quite often on the VA beltway and 66 (don't get out to MD much any more).....cyclists that are going way past the limit and weaving in and out of traffic with their small bikes. Bikes have always scared me even at low speeds ......much less that kind of nonsense.
Be careful doing 78 in a 60 zone. Most of the time, on interstates, you'll be OK if you are doing 5 or 10 over (most speed-cameras are set for 10-11 over), but 15-20 MPH over could set you up for this.......
Like you can see in the video, I'm going with the flow of traffic, I passed 3 cops in the median and they didn't flinch. Really unless you are driving much faster than the flow of traffic in MD they don't bother you. Same on 270, I do 75 or so all the time and the limit is 55, 65 gets you run over.
Now no idea why those cops didnt stop these bikers, maybe they exited before they got to them or slowed way down.

All it takes is one person to forget to check their blind spot.

Totally, and you're dead in an incredibly painful and scary way too. Insane. I have two cousins that have bikes and they loved them, but anymore they are just afraid to ride them. I never had any desire to ride a motorcycle.

As for bikes... anything but a sports bike. MX/Enduro is where it's at if you want thrills
Yeah speed limit in the right lane doesn't bother me. Left lane is another story, but thats what the right lane is for.

Similar here. Spent last weekend at a tournament ~85 miles from home, commuting back and forth each day. Most of that drive was spent doing 80 in a 60 or 85 in a 70, in the far right lane, occasionally going into the second lane to pass. Regularly passed at a moderate speed differential by folks in the 2-3 left lanes, with the occasional psycho going 130+.

The most obvious answer is that there is simply too much traffic in this area, too many scofflaws, and too few cops on the road. You can't empty the Pacific Ocean with a garden hose LOL. Nor can you give out tickets in a donut shop.

Agreed. A riding-helmet and a leather suit is no substitute for having one to three tons of rolling metal and belts/air bags protecting you.

Like I said I saw 4 cops on that 16 mile stretch of road, so its patrolled.
I would rate that as heavily locked down even.....out here I can go 40 miles without encountering even one most of the time
MD has a police department who's only job is to patrol toll roads, the Maryland Transit Authority Police. That road is patrolled by them, you don't normally see cops that often here.

That toll road in particular when I take it always has cops on it, always.

Yep, always. I got into an argument on Facebook one time with a guy who insisted he drove the ICC every day and NEVER saw a cop, so cops don't patrol the ICC. I don't think I've ever been on it and not seen a cop!
You don't see many at all on the VA part of the Beltway or 66.
You see a fair many on 66 when you get out past Centreville, but the beltway there really isn't anywhere for them to sit, and the flow of traffic is such that patrolling causes more problems than it solves
