For some reason today 4 or 5 drivers decided to go 40 in a 55 on 270…

Lord that is annoying, my drive home is a 55 aka 62ish for locals but we often get people who think it's a 40 and then get OFFENDED when passed.

I really don’t know what makes people do that.

What really gets me is the revenge passing, like bro....I'm in A. a jeep from 2000 or B. a car you have ZERO chance of passing. I have no idea why when I calmly pass with plenty of room but that makes them do a hard tailgate then fly past to just slow down again.

It’s like they’re emasculated by being passed

Is the way German cars lock the same on your newer ones? (Won’t unlock from inside once secured, etc.)

No, mine are pull to unlock but then again I have never seen if the latch does something different if you lock from outside the car. I may try it just to see.....I would have to somehow get around the ultrasonic system though while still being inside the car.

seems like a good place to put this, but i'd love the opinion of Striker223 and anyone else who could say exactly what happened here lmao

https://www.reddit.com/r/Justrolledi...dealer_quoted/

Can't get a straight answer from the customer on what happened but he came in saying there's an engagement issue. Another local dealer said they wouldn't cover it under warranty and quoted him around $28,000. I submitted it to Ford and am waiting to hear back what they say. The only mods are larger tires, aftermarket struts & exhaust.

My gut thought/reaction is he did a HELL of a burnout or neutral drop, that only happens when immense load/shock hits all at once from sudden traction....think like a 100+ mph wheel speed with only 30mph vehicle and then full traction right NOW type of a shock. That or the trans was miss/over tightened to the engine or misaligned/something was between them that was not supposed to be creating a point of extreme pressure.

This is why I don't like mainstream used cars, prior owners can be real morons and flog the hell out of them without understanding what they are doing. A lot of that risk is removed when you buy "luxury" cars or high end enough ones, only other choice is to just very carefully look the vehicle over before buying.

maybe tried too many power shifts? either way to do that to a 2020 car with 40k miles seems dubious lol

Strange things can happen when the vehicle isn't maintained properly and i'm always happy to find the weak spots. Lol

Back in the day I was driving the boss's F350 dually with manual transmission.

I was young and in a hurry so I stomped the gas and threw the stick into reverse and the motor mounts broke and the whole engine rotated about 20 degrees off the mounts lol

Scary noises under the hood so I cut the motor off and he had to get a tow truck.

Yeah, I'm a dumb driver! Haha
