The dumb drivers thread
#46
So, the driver of the black Sequoia lined up to take the spot. He was the second car from the light so he doesn't have much to maneuver. For some unknown reason the girl in the Velar decided to go next to him. As you can see, I gave her enough room to back up, instead she doubled down and moved up further. The driver of the Toyota even opened his window and said something to her. After a few light cycles, he managed to get into the spot without her moving. Once the light turned green, she moved into the intersection and neither went straight or turned. As she decided to make a right turn after about 15-20 seconds, I managed to go around her and gave her a piece of my mind. She was probably looking for a spot herself. You just can’t make up this level of stupid.

I heard on the radio this morning that the TSA put out an alert telling airline passengers NOT to put their small pets thru the X-ray machine. So it would seem that some of these dumb drivers do get out of their cars and take other modes of transportation.....

Following distance and clearing intersections are the two best ways to not get hit, you should never assume they won't run a red since it's so common now. I always slowly roll into intersections unless I'm the only car there or I can confirm everyone else who is supposed to be stopped is stoped.
As density increases speed decreases.....if there is a lot going on you can't go quickly. If it's an own empty road and the only risk is to yourself I don't care how fast you go.

I also got the bird yesterday for trying to merge lol

Efficient or not, the law says come to a full stop.
Now, having said that, I'll admit that I don't always come to a complete or full stop myself 100% of the time. Usually I do stop, but, occasionally, I'll slow to about 3-5 MPH and turn right. But I never do it any faster than that.

One thing I get to see a lot from my vantage point in a pickup is everybody else's cell phones when I pass them on the freeway....not a fan of that. I feel bad enough checking it at a stop light, but I'd never text and drive. I've occasionally changed podcasts on a long empty stretch of highway.
And Vegas is full of drivers that take personal offense at merge attempts. They see you coming and they'll match your speed to block you from getting over. Really grinds my gears.
Oh, another thing...THE FREEWAY ON RAMP IS FOR ACCELERATING TO THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC. STOP DRIVING 25 MPH ON THE ON-RAMP!
Just a few pet peeves.
If y'all want some fun browsing, go https://www.reddit.com/r/NissanDrivers and get the popcorn out. You'll give Altimas a wide berth going forward.

I guess we’re about to find out what the carwash will do to this mostly broken lamp housing and loose hanging bumper cover

Does failure to keep your car well enough to not drop parts count as an idiot?
On my drive back from my holster maker Monday an Oldsmobile had a rim eject and he went into an exit wall. Unfortunately for me I ended up running over the hubcap? Something...it was dark and I couldn't dodge due to a car on my left. I'm pissed off since it appears my curse of minor body damage continues, the hit was just hard enough to get through my PPF in two areas.
I think it was a hubcap or something, it was really hard but I don't think it could have been a rim?
Insurance is gonna hate me....the popped out ACC grill is $750 by itself lol!
