Default Help me install my aftermarket head unit

Hey guys,

I just purchased a new Alpine head unit that should get delivered over the next week or so. After much research there doesn't seem to be a wiring harness out there for the SC to make this a plug and play affair
Anyone have any advice??? Would anyone be able to help me out one afternoon with this?

Thanks
Chris

Any progress on this situation????? Chris did you find a harness for plug and play????? I'm actually looking to install the radio (satellite) in either the glove box or center console, that way I can set up my guages (4-5)into where the radio is/was.

I will try to meet up with you guys on one of these Thursdays....been really busy.

Later,
Scott

Hey Scott,

Update on the install:
Supposedly you can in fact use the 87+ Toyota wiring harness. I opted to just splice into the factory harness. As long as you use the wiring diagrams it's not all that difficult. I will say though, the SC sub/amp setup is difficult to work with. I don't have a functioning Sub or antenna at the moment. I think I'm just going to wire up a 10" sub in the trunk and remove the factory sub so the bass can pass through.

Anyone have suggestions on the antenna issue? It's wiring in the factory amp so I'm assuming I'm not spliced into the correct wire to power it.

Here is a pic

yeah that antenna in the lexus cars is a pain......i'll try to find a solution soon. there is no harness cause you have to disconnect the amp in the back. i'm computer access is very limited right now so i'll try to get back to you asap.

2Lexos, I would appreciate any help what so ever to get my antenna working again. Any way to wire in the factory sub again too???
What do you guys think of just wiring up a 10" sub and new amp and removing the old sub so the sound can pass through??? Do you think I'll notice much, i.e. is it worth it?

Oh, kev, if you're talking about my 6spd, hat would be a big fat NO
otherwise, you can purchase my extra 5spd

I have an aftermarket amp and sub. You can get a free air sub. It works pretty well.
