Hey I am purchasing a car for around $6,500. I am looking for a loan to help me cover the charge of the car. Its older then a 99' so most banks won't let me do an auto loan. I am only 19 years old and I don't have credit yet. I am getting my dad to cosign with me on the loan but interest rates/charges is over 10%! Its a personal loan I am trying to apply for, anyone have any ideas on which banks to go to and how to get a lower interest rate? Any that anyone knows in the Chicagoland area? So far 5/3s is okay with me but charging me 10%+! Any help would be appericated thank you!

Because of your situation you might not have many choices. My first car was financed at over 20% because I refused to sign with a cosigner. It was my first car, an ES300, and most finance companies felt it was too much car for me and abit too fancy. I took out a 3 year loan on it and paid on time and actually paid it off early. Next was my GS, and I got financed at under 10%. It's teh only way you might be able to build up that credit you don't have.
