Hi,
Anyone here know of a Lexus dealer that will do a real coolant flush (not simply drain and fill) and who will use Toyota Red coolant? I called around to dealerships in the ChicagoLand area and they all either tell me they'll:
1) Do a complete flush, but then fill up with "suitable replacement coolant" (ie random green junk)
2) Only drain and fill, but will fill with Toyota Red (unfortunately, it seems that the green cooland and red coolant don't mix so well.
Anyone want to give some advice on where I can go? Should I just change the coolant myself?
JM

it's not that hard to do it yourself.....it'll take some time out of your day but at least you'll know you did it right and you'll save lot's of cash. If i'm not mistaken they sell a kit, but i did it so long ago and i did it at the school shop. but there is a garden hose involved cause you run water into the engine and let it drain out the radiator drain **** while the engine is running.....good luck

Thanks for the links and info guys. Will do it this weekend. Is the backflush kit or the chemical flush better? I was thinking of just doing a chemical flush.

as i tell everyone on this fourm
red stuff = pink stuff = green junk = ethlyine glycol
for ppl who disagee with the pink stuff there is a tsb saying that u can mix it but its not good for 100k any more but 50k
besides when u reach 100k with the pink junk u replace it ever 30. so whats the difference
