about half the official toyota bodyshop....the other places want to take apart my front so they can blend the paint, he said he will do it without blending paint that far so its wont require nearly as much time....

how far do you need to blend? basically he's saying he will not blend as far as the other guys and it will save alot of money because he wont have to disassemble the front. here is a pic of the scratch (the first pic)

I'm not the kinda guy to let stuff like go, but it looks like the scratch is under the front lip....can you even see it? Honestly, scratches like that are going to happen and you might just want to let it go....i know if you're as picky as I am that you'll always know its there and it will bug you.
Blending would definately be a must though but the guy is right that he might not have to blend that much....if its on the fender for instance, he'll have to blend it into the side of the car. Silver is one of the hardest colors to match too, so make sure he knows what he's doing (making test pieces, etc.)...it has to be a perfect mix of the collorant and the metallic additive....it's hard to find a body shop that will do it perfectly. I know a guy in Naperville that could help you out if you feel timid...it would probably cost you about 75-100....it'll be perfect too...I have a silver GS and he's done work on my car...best work I have ever seen

are you looking at the link i posted above?...one scratch is about 9 inches long and both are very deep. they are aroung the tire, and are very noticeable in a dark blue car. let me know how far you think it needs to be blended...all the way to the hood for the long one and all the way to the front of the bumper for the smaller one? this guy is saying he wouldn't go that far. thanks!
