Default Im looking for a ist gen GS in the area....

While browsing online I dragged my feet on a nice 1996 GS300 at a Chicago dealer, and it sold a day or two before I went and bought it. I was wondering if you guys knew of any leads for some GS300's priced below $8000?? Im going to look at another one I found online this Saturday, but I thought i'd try here..........

You should even be able to pick up a 2nd gen GS300 for around $8k.

well I bought a car yesterday. I put up an ad on the Chicago Craigslist looking for a 98-2000 GS for $8k or less, and the first response I got was for a 98 gs300 with 111k miles for $9k. I went and checked it out, and the guy ended up taking $8500 for it. I'm pretty happy, other than we got the first winter storm of the year, and by the time I headed home freeway speeds were down to about 40mph! I'll post pics when I get a chance, but its buried under 3" of snow for now, so it'll be a while!

Thanks for the encouraging words aliti19, I'm glad I stepped up my search a bit to find a second gen....

Great buy! What color did you get? I'm glad it all worked out for you. Can't wait to see some pics!

I thought it was white, but I guess its "off-white" I just cleared out my garage so its in there until this weather clears. First plans are to tint it and get a remote start, then maybe springtime do a small drop 1-1 1/2", and some staggered 18's. Also I want to ad an amp and some, i'm a bit dissapointed at the stock system, but that should go without saying!
