Default Winter wheel care

Just checking to see what everyone does with their wheels in the winter, Do you put stock/snow tires on or keep it custom? I got 22" chromes coming in 2 weeks and am dying to put them on, Just dont want them to get ruined by the salt. I read about people using wheel wax/vaseline or just wiping them down weekly.

You def wanna run some stock/snows for the winter. One slip into a curb, or a nasty pothole will make you pull your hair out. What car are you putting the 22's on?

I'd definitely agree and say use stock/snow wheels for the winter. Salt would harm the chrome and may degrade its quality. The wheel wax would help, but there's still a good chance of the salt damaging the wheels. Wheel wax helps more on keeping brake dust off the wheels because there's a layer of protection, while salt is just an actual piece that can harm/scratch the wheels.

I'm putting the 22's on my LS460....I figured the best thing to do is wait, I was just hoping there was something I could do. It seems like salt is the real killer here. Thanks!

yes i would wait the 3 more months we probably have left at this point. i would say the salt will eat up those nice new rims.
so what rims did you purchase? make sure you post us some pics when you do put them on your car.
