Default Sigh.. Ticket for no front plate

After two year of driving without a front plate in the suburbs.. the one night i decide to take my car to the city and park it on the street, I get a no front plate ticket... sigh. $50 down the drain.

I get this all the time...it's a stupid way for them to make more revenue. It's a scam...if I am not driving the car I don't need a damn front plate.

Didn't know you were required to have a front plate while the car is parked.....

Got one about a month ago on madison in downtown. Of all the cars I dont know how they spotted me so quickly, I was only there for about 30 minutes.

Yeah i have no idea how they spotted me either.. i was parked behind a car... so the policeman/woman wouldve had to really been looking for cars without front plates to catch me..

edit: btw, does anyone know whats the best way to temporarily mount a plate without drilling holes?

I've been ok for the last 1.5 years. With new tints, i'm a little scared now.

You know how people put the license plate on the passenger's side front windshield? Does that prevent getting ticketed?

im pretty sure the window wont work...so i have been told. i know many where doing this in the past and dont think it works anymore.

there is no way to mount the front plate with out the front bumper having the wholes. i had my put on about 3 mos ago and have had less trouble as my windows are blacked out. i seem to be left alone now i have a front plate.

i know its not what you want to do and i didnt either. i would just put it on at this point and have less worries. they are cracking down on this now and seems i am hearing more and more of this all over. i never had one on my cars and last year when i started to work in downers grove they where all over me. i got out of them with a few warnings but had enough of the harassment. just not worth it anymore.

i just took it to McGrath where i got it and they installed it for me in about 10 min...its not too bad and im used to it now.

try to make brackets that mount somewhere other than through the bumper cover. I refuse to put mine on, seeing as how florida gets away with dark tints and no front plates so why should we have to put them on...

I don't like having one either but it's just not worth the hustle. I don't want to give them a reason to pull me over.

On my old car (about 10 years ago) I used to put the plate behind the windshield and I didn't have any problems.... but that's just too ghetto for a Lexus

Do you just need a picture to show that the plate is mounted? Try mounting it on the driver side of the bumper.... just remove the little square and attach it inside somehow.

Try using strong magnets, put some magnets behind the bumper and put some on the plate itself.

Ive heard more stories of actual chicago cops getting you for this, than the suburb cops lately. Its a good thing I spend little time in the city.
