Default Some remodeling advice

So most of you guys know that I bought my first place last fall in Schaumburg. I love the new place but since I'm not working on the car right now I feel like I always have to be doing some project in the house. So far I've done tiling, repainted the entire place, shop lights in the garage, new lighting in the kitchen...and the list goes on and on....

So to get to my point I plan on tearing out my laminate countertop in the bathroom and replacing it with granite. Does anyone have any contacts for granite? This might be a dumb question, but do I have to buy a sink and fixtures first so they can size the holes? I'll have more granite to do in the future but I'm tring to take one step at a time....I don't want to get ahead of myself....
