If you guys want, you can merge into toyota owners of chicago. Its just a very very informal forum for all local toyota folks, started only a few weeks ago and many people already on board and it is active too. No member dues or decals or any other mandatory crap. Pretty much do as you will cept dont be a jackass Only did start it a few weeks ago, once my finals are done, Ill be designing a custom theme for the forums that is more friendlier but most importantly unique to us only lol.

^^ I would personally like to see this take off. I am more interested in local stuff instead of pushing CL and the vendors in CA and other areas that do nothing for us but sponsor events and stuff for the local CA members!!
We need to find locals who want our business and will give in return. I can imagine how much business I have sent to many of these people and to find out they sponsor the CA members and give them stuff when I put all the work into DIY threads and help out.
The question is how can we build it up? does it need to be specific to Lexus? can we get these Supra guys and others in? We need more diversity and stuff to chat about and keep interest IMO anyway.
Lets make this work out! Im parting ways with my car but plan to stay active with the local section here and not CL.

I've found that at least 50% of the larger CL forum sponsors I ask will donate something for larger meets that have been organized, and all of them have been outside of CA (in Charlotte, TN, Atlanta, DC, etc). I'll be glad to ask them for you if you'd feel more comfortable with that. Once they commit you just need to make it easy on them to get the stuff to you (plenty of advance notice and reminders every now and then).

If you're pulling together a big and heavily promoted Chicago meet I encourage you to PM the sponsors on Club Lexus to see if they'll give you something as a raffle prize or giveaway. I'd suggest getting it organized and have the beginnings of the meet to show them you'll have a decent turnout first.
