Possible Lexus/Acura meet?
Hey guys,
I don't actually own a Lexus but my friend is on here with his GS430. I'm a big fan of Lexus but I own an Acura TL.
I've seen pictures of your Chicago meets and damn, you guys roll deep!
I was wondering if anyone on here would be interested in a Lexus/Acura meet sometime before the weather gets too crappy. Our last meet had a pretty good turn out (~25 cars, TLs, RSXs, Legends etc) but I think it would be awesome to get a chance to check out each others cars.
I haven't ran it by the AcuraZine guys yet (because the forum is down) but I'm sure they wouldn't mind.
So what do you say... interested or not?

^ Sweet. I live in Schaumburg so I'll show up if it doesn't conflict with HIN. My boy (meatball monster thing is his avatar) won't be in town but once AcuraZine is back up, I'll see who I can wrangle.

Anyway, this Saturday is HIN though... starts at 4PM. Maybe we can roll to this one at 1PM, then head down to HIN around 3PM.

I have to ask how well you like your TL and how well has it held up?? I only ask as I have owned 5 of them with this one being the last and they all where problems but my first. I went through many trans in them and other things that where of common issue? Sharp looking for sure and by far the best thing from an appearance they did to the TL. They are killing it, IMO, with the new body

Alright. Maybe we can finalize a date and location on CL... then I can post it on AZ to get some people over.
Nice. Don't see too many RRPs (I think thats the right color code) rockin the Aspec kit. And yes, I agree with the new Acura styling... 
I assume all your TLs were 6MT? TLs are known to have weaker trannies, especially the manuals, but I haven't had any issues thus far. I've actually only driven 4-5K on it as I just picked it up early Summer. Even on AZ, I don't see a lot of trannie threads being posted. Maybe you just had some bad luck? The TL is a great car for the money... might not be as fast as the IS350 but it sure is a whole lot cheaper!

Maybe a few less clutch dumps would've salvaged your clutches. I have a friend with the TL-type S. They are sharp looking cars and they have the best nav I've ever seen with the real time traffic reporting and how you can use it in drive. Unless that part was a hack. Anyway, nice lookin rides

mine where all automatic...these where my dd for business/work...I wasnt the only one and I cant believe you havent read up on this issue? especially on the Acura/Honda boards? oh well...you can say it was an on going problem to the point that the TL-Aspec Acura gave me a credit towards my new purchase and ate the difference on the value of my lease. I was promised that the trans was taken care of and well....at 12k miles I was in for a new trans. Sharp car indeed for the $$ and the BEST navi I have ever used in ANY make car, Lexus, BMW, & Audi all need to learn from Acura in the department.
