My buddy told me today a cop told him that by '09 having front windows tinted will be bumped up to a 500 dollar fine among other citations instead of just a 250 dollar fine.

anyone else hear about this to confirm or know anything else??

I'd hate to really lose my front tint.. it just looks stupid on a coupe without it..

Do you mean the windshield or the driver and passenger side door windows? I have 35% tint on my driver/passenger door windows, should I be worried?

I drive at night for work and Im constantly amazed at how stupid people are when they drive. As far as Im concerned fines should go up for people with no common sense. Unless I get caught, then its BS!

im talking about driver front window, passenger front, and definitely front windshield.

^^ Yes its for the front windows and its illegal to have the windshield tinted also. they are going to push this BIG and if you get caught by one of the many cameras that are going up on street corners there is NO warning!

Like Matt said get the plate or take it off! I took mine off till I replace my IS and then I will get the plates and BLACK them all out

nope! you have to have a form filled out by a doctor and the state then has to approve of it I went to my eye doctor where I got my first note from and they would not fill the form out

here is that thread for those who are not aware of that plate! One member that we know of had it done so far. I hope to join that list once I have the new car as it sucks not having my front windows tinted.
